Workshop 1 – Paperwork- Discuss the Key difference’s between contemporary acting and Shakespearian performance
- Identifying/ Translating Shakespeare into a Modern sense
- Identifying Rhetorical Features
- Introduce Scansion and it’s use as a tool
- Homework- Performers need to pick out a monologue and bring it to the next class. Not to exceed 2 minutes. Memorization not required at this phase.

Workshop 2 – Cadence, Color and Choice- Define Cadence and Color: How Cadence and Color interact with Technical features
- Exercises to access cadence and color
- Discuss Choice as it relates to Shakespeare’s hightened circumstances
- Work on Monologue
- Homework: Scenes and Scene partners assigned. Performers start memorizing monologues

- Homework - Next session we are auditioning for “________” come prepared with a memorized monologue not to exceed 2 minutes and ready to do cold reads from the play. Performers need to read the Play
